I really don't know deeply about philosophy, I read a lot of biographies and articles of characters and their ideas in a general way, but I didn't study many texts (or all of the texts) of one so I cant write with too much security. Understood this I will tell you about the author of the last book (independent of university) that I read and loved, and his name is Gastón Bachelard and the book is called "The poetry of the space"
This author is a philosopher, physicist, poet, teacher and critic of France and their principal ideas turn around the overcoming of the debate between empiricism and rationalism(or that says wikipedia). But how I know just an book and considering that this author do various studies I just talk about of the poetry of the space that is a analysis or assortative system of the poetic images of the life, books, painting, drawing, music, etc and is in this images where the author is based or "inspired" for unrolling/ collet the imaginative substance.
About this topics of "aesthetic criticism" the other famous books are "The water and the dreams", "The poetic of reverie" , The air and the dreams" and etc.
I like more than the ideas of he , the way with he connected with many corners of the little images and the way that its arising to you and dwell the things and the imagination.
For hat reasons I think I can "link" or conversely , his images are linked with my life because when I read I understood we inhabit and travel in the same or closer levels of reverie with the objets and the imagination or in other words, of the depth of matters and its phenomena, walk seeing "similar" things.
